Parnell Village Walk (Self Guided), Auckland

Parnell is the oldest district in Auckland and probably the most beautiful. You really shouldn’t miss spending a day here, shopping in the superb boutiques, browsing through the many galleries or simply exploring this charming village.

Parnell is home to some of the top designer boutiques in Auckland, but there is less bustle here than in other shopping areas in the city so you can browse at your leisure to find that unique item which could have been made especially for you. You will also discover some super jewelry shops displaying hand crafted items and fashion accessory stores with beautifully stitched bags and belts. Once you have finished shopping, check out the art galleries which exhibit local art and where you can buy examples of the works of New Zealand’s up and coming artists.

Explore the streets that are lined with graceful Victorian houses, wander through the beautiful rose gardens or relax at the stunning Judge’s Bay beach. Visit Parnell Baths, a historic site which boasts the biggest salt-water pool in the country. Parnell also has several excellent restaurants ranging from formal dress fine dining, to casual dress quality dining to fish and chips takeaways and burger stands.
