Discover lots of hidden treasures and vintage inspiration for the home when you wander Hollywood Road. This is one of the oldest streets in Hong Kong, first laid in 1844, shortly after the island became a British colony. The street is populated with more than a dozen antique stores selling a variety of objects and curiosities from times gone by. These stores feature unique finds, knick-knacks, memorabilia and quality collectables, such as porcelains, photographs, jewelry, Chinese furniture, sculptures and Tibetan rugs.
Stepping through some of their front doors is like walking into the most wonderful museums, stuffed with fascinating items that demand your attention. There are more antique items to be uncovered in Lascar Row, at one end of Hollywood Street. This 200-meter road, also known as Cat Street is lined with a good number of antique stores.
Rummage through shelves and floor spaces that are crammed with curios and oriental antiques, such as old coins, propaganda booklets and leaflets, furniture, jewelry and jade articles. There are items to suit all budgets. Nearby is Lok Ku Road, a haven of handcraft stores and shops selling exquisite imperial-inspired furniture.
