French Quarter Walking Tour, Munich

French Quarter Walking Tour (Self Guided), Munich

Enjoy a delightful taste of France when you wander through Munich's French Quarter, a very pretty neighborhood with beautiful architecture, small shops, cafés and leafy squares. The look and feel of the place combined with the heady aromas from its eateries are all unmistakably French.

For some fabulous shopping, go to Weißenburger Platz and Weiner Platz where many stores are located, including a smattering of unique and independent shops. Also, make a point of exploring the side streets for the fascinating shops.

Find your way to a café and order a coffee and a croissant. If you are hankering for more French flavors, stock up on foods from the nearby stores at Wiener Markt, which sell a range of French delicacies and specialties. Visit for fish, vegetables, meat and wine among other types of produce. This market benefits from a gorgeous setting in the Haidhausen district and bears more than a passing resemblance to a rural village square. There are chestnut trees, wells and even a maypole.

When it comes to finding a spot for lunch or dinner, you are spoilt with a dizzying array of choices. They include the eateries near Wiener Markt and the restaurants and cafés in the streets surrounding Pariser Platz (Paris Square), the center of the French Quarter.
