Downtown Shopping (Self Guided), Seville

Get set for a fashion extravaganza when you go shopping in Seville's city center. The neighborhood is home to some seriously good shopping opportunities, particularly on Calle Sierpes, a long pedestrianized avenue and the streets that run parallel to it, Calle Velazquez Tetúan and Calle Cuna.

Among the delightful mix of stores, you will find traditional and designer stores and small boutiques with cool clothing for men and women. There are also shops selling other items such as souvenirs, sporting goods and jewelry. Bear in mind that some shops in the city maintain the siesta, which means they are typically closed for three hours in the middle of the day, but open again late afternoon and early evening.

As you make your way through the city center, pause to admire some of the old buildings and the tiles on their walls and façades. Also on the streets of the city are a good number of antique stores. They are filled with a huge variety of collectibles, including furniture, tapestries, paintings, everyday items from previous centuries and ceramics.

Don't try and do all your shopping at once. Take your time, and make some pit stops in the cafés and tapas bars that the city is well known for.
