City Center Shopping Walk (Self Guided), Belfast

The streets of Belfast city center impress the visitor with their extensive range of high street stores, shopping centers, family-owned businesses and designer boutiques. What’s more, all are within easy reach of each other. The city center comprises Donegall Square, Donegall Place, Royal Avenue, Castle Junction, High Street and the surrounding streets and alleys.

Very popular with visitors and the city's shoppers is Victoria Square shopping center. Its shops are spread out over four levels, and there are covered, pedestrianized streets. The center’s standout feature is the massive glass dome from which you can enjoy extensive views across the city. Other attractions include an eight-screen cinema where you can watch the latest Hollywood blockbusters.

Make your way over to Fountain Street, a delightful pedestrianized area with gift shops, cafés and bars. Another great place to take your shopping bags to is the Castle Court Shopping Center. This is a large reflective glass building on Royal Avenue, Belfast's main shopping strip. Inside is a bounty of shops selling clothes, cosmetics, sporting goods, home ware, jewelry and more. There is also a food court and market-style stalls. In addition to the city center’s shops, there are lots of eateries, including the restaurants and bars on the stretch known as the Golden Mile.
