Avenidas Santa Fe and Callao Shopping, Buenos Aires

Avenidas Santa Fe and Callao Shopping (Self Guided), Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires is a beautiful city teeming with lots of exciting shopping destinations. One of the most famous is Avenida Santa Fe, a long street that also thrills with its architecture. Many of the buildings bear more than a passing resemblance to those you will find on the streets of Paris. This was a deliberate plan when the area was redeveloped in the 19th century.

Although dubbed the 'Avenue of Fashion' for its many clothing retailers, designer and off the peg togs aren't the only items for sale here. You can buy just about anything, including jewelry, electrical goods and items for the home. In addition to independent boutiques, stores and shopping malls, there are also numerous cafés and restaurants. Enjoy the city's coffee culture with a dark roasted brew and watch the busy street scene unfold in front of you as thousands go about their business.

Leading off Santa Fe is another of the city's main arteries, Avenida Callao. This popular shopping destination is lined with numerous stores, including gift shops and designer outlets and towering above them is a collection of stately looking buildings. Whether you are in serious shopping mode or are just looking for somewhere pleasant to stroll among beautiful buildings, put Avenida's Santa Fe and Callao on your itinerary.
