Although everything may be bigger in Texas, Northern Ontario’s largest city certainly has its share of larger than life treasures. With that in mind, here are five big things to do in Sudbury, Ontario.
First up on this list of big things to do in Sudbury is checking out the Inco Superstack. Once the world’s tallest chimney, the Superstack tops the list simply because it is impossible to miss. Topping out at 1,250 feet tall, it’s still the tallest chimney in the western hemisphere.
Before it’s completion in 1972, Sudbury was considered a barren wasteland. Heavy mining had taken its toll. Rocks were black and lakes acidic. The Superstack was built to disperse the sulphur gases away from the city and help bring life back to Sudbury.
